Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri on Thursday called a plenary session, shortly after meeting with Andre Rahal, a consultant to President Joseph Aoun. The session is expected to resume the agenda launched Sept. 29, aborted due to a loss of quorum after MPs demanding a debate on expatriate voting in the 2026 parliamentary elections walked out.Berri has since tried twice to reconvene Parliament, but both attempts failed, again due to a lack of quorum. The same scenario could unfold again on Thursday. According to political sources, anti-Hezbollah MPs are expected to boycott the session again because the electoral law was not added to the agenda. This could be mitigated if Berri has secured guarantees in advance or is seeking to corner his opponents and deflect accusations that he is paralyzing the legislature. Need an explainer? Hacking...
