On Dec. 12, 2005, one day after having returned to Lebanon, the editor-in-chief of Annahar, a man of unwavering sovereignist vision, was assassinated.

On June 3, 2005, Annahar newspaper organized a protest in downtown Beirut against the assassination of Samir Kassir, an emblematic journalist and key figure of the Cedar Revolution who had been killed just the day before.
