Noor al-Yacoubi is a 26-year-old translator and writer. She hasn't left the Gaza Strip since the war began on Oct. 7, 2023, and has been sharing reflections on her life with L'Orient Today during the war.Mohammed has become so thin and fragile. He lost over 15 kilograms during the war. His head has become covered with white hair, though he’s only 31 years old.Ironically, I keep telling my husband that he looks like a 70-year-old man. His white hair hasn’t appeared out of nowhere. He is like so many other men, exhausted and burdened with many responsibilities, all of which made them grow up 10 years older or more.He thinks of me and his two-year-old baby, Lya, who hasn’t lived a normal day since she was born.
