At least two people were killed and five others injured Tuesday evening in armed clashes linked to drug trafficking near the Palestinian refugee camp of Shatila in Beirut’s southern suburbs, in what appears to be part of an ongoing vendetta. Gunfire exchanges involving B7 rockets and machine guns broke out between Lebanese and Palestinian traffickers, in a battle to expand their territory, a security source inside the camp told L’Orient-Le Jour.According to information gathered by our correspondent, the clashes occurred in the western area of Ghobeiri neighborhood (also known as the Gharbeh street), on the edge of the camp, near the Camille Chamoun Sports City.
