While Israel just agreed to a cease-fire with Iran, its army carried out another deadly attack in southern Lebanon, where it still occupies several positions.
An Israeli drone fired two missiles at a car in the region of Kfar Dajjal (Nabatieh), according to L'Orient Today's correspondent in the region. The vehicle caught fire, and rescue workers who arrived at the scene reported at least three deaths. It was a father and his two sons, who were all in the vehicle.
The vehicle burst into flames, and emergency services on the scene reported three fatalities, a figure confirmed by the Health Ministry. According to L'Orient Today's correspondent, the victims were Haitham Bakri, his son Mohammad and his father Abdallah.
In the afternoon, an Israeli drone dropped a stun bomb on a tractor in Markaba (Marjayoun), damaging the vehicle. The target of the attack was unclear, and no injuries were reported, according to L'Orient Today's correspondent.
On Tuesday, a maintenance team from the South Lebanon Water Board repaired the Wazzani water pump, which had been damaged during the war between Hezbollah and Israel. The team was accompanied by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and carried out the repairs in cooperation with the Lebanese army and UNIFIL.
This is the first incident since a series of 15 strikes carried out Monday night by the Israeli army on several regions north of the Litani River.
Hezbollah and Israel reached a truce at the end of November, ending more than a year of conflcit. However, the Israeli army still occupies several positions in southern Lebanon and continues to bomb this region daily. It has also conducted several destructive bombings on the southern suburbs of Beirut, the most recent at the beginning of June.
