In the early hours of Friday, Iran awoke to a sky full of 200 Israeli fighter jets and a deluge of strikes. Israel bombed nuclear facilities and residential neighborhoods, killing at least 20 senior Iranian officials, at least six scientists, and more than 75 civilians.The largest attack between the two regional superpowers and enemies came two days before the U.S. and Iran were set to return to the negotiating table in Oman for a sixth round of talks toward a deal on Iran's uranium enrichment program, in return for the lifting of sanctions, some of America's most stringent.Israel's bombing campaign lasted into the late hours of the day, accompanied by statements from Israeli officials saying that its offensive could last for days or even weeks. Iran's response came around 10 p.m., and continued until long after midnight....
