Lebanese Army conducts raids in Hermel, destroys Captagon labs

In a statement published by the Lebanese Army on Sunday, the military announced a series of security operations across various regions, including the demolition of Captagon manufacturing labs near the Lebanese-Syrian border, raids on the homes of wanted individuals, and the arrest of several suspects involved in crimes such as drug trafficking, shooting, and weapons possession.

"As part of efforts to combat drug manufacturing and trafficking, an army unit, supported by a patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence, raided Captagon pill manufacturing labs in the Harf al-Samaqah area – Hermel, near the Lebanese-Syrian border. The unit seized raw materials used in production and demolished the labs," the Army said.

"In the town of Mrayata – Zgharta and the Hermel area, the army raided the homes of individuals wanted for attacking a military vehicle, shooting, and drug trafficking. Weapons and ammunition were seized, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the wanted individuals. Separately, an army unit arrested a citizen at the Braisah Dam checkpoint – Hermel for possession of weapons and ammunition," the army said,

A patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence arrested citizen in the Doura – Hermel area, as he is wanted for shooting and drug trafficking.

The confiscated items were handed over and investigations with the detainees are underway under the supervision of the competent judiciary.

"As part of ongoing security measures carried out by the military, army units, each supported by a patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence, raided the homes of wanted individuals and arrested a citizen. In the Kafaat area – Southern Suburb of Beirut, the army arrested a citizen, who is wanted for various crimes including shooting, drug use and trafficking, and extortion. A handgun was found in his possession," the army also added.
