Aoun and Salam discuss recent international engagements

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam reviewed their recent international trips on Tuesday at the Baabda Palace.

According to the Lebanese presidency, "Aoun was briefed by Mr. Salam about the outcomes of the Arab summit held on Saturday in Baghdad, as well as the discussions that took place on the summit's sidelines." In return, the President shared insights from his meetings in Rome and summarized his visit to Cairo.

President Aoun was in Cairo on Monday, where he met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi and the Grand Imam of al-Azhar.

Salam attended the 34th Arab League summit in Baghdad over the weekend.

The meeting between Aoun and Salam also addressed the progress of municipal elections and preparations for the fourth phase of voting in South Lebanon. This final round is scheduled for Saturday, May 24.
