Tourism minister urges all Lebanese tourism businesses to comply ahead of summer season
The measure is part of preparations for the upcoming summer season, which Lebanon hopes will help revive its economy, particularly after the United Arab Emirates lifted its travel ban.

On Monday, Tourism Minister Laura Khazen Lahoud issued a directive urging all Lebanese tourism establishments operating without authorization or licenses to “immediately bring their status into compliance.”She requested that these businesses submit the required documents or complete their existing files to the ministry in order to obtain legal permits.According to the decision, businesses in violation will have one year from the date of publication to comply. After that, the ministry “will initiate the necessary legal procedures against offenders, including judicial action if needed.”The move comes as part of preparations for the upcoming tourist season, which Lebanon hopes will provide a much-needed boost to the economy, particularly following the United Arab Emirates’ decision to lift its travel ban on Lebanon as of May 7.
