The Ministry of Social Affairs stated on Monday in a press release that financial allocations for April from the assistance program for vulnerable families in Lebanon, "Aman," will be disbursed starting from Tuesday, April 29. "The number of beneficiaries is 159,330 Lebanese families, which equates to 754,863 individuals," the ministry said. It also highlighted that the total amount transferred under the program for April "amounts to $18,383,185."

The emergency social safety net program "Aman," funded by the World Bank and launched in 2022, has enabled monthly cash transfers to the country's most destitute families. Social Affairs Minister Hanine Sayed announced at the beginning of April that her colleague in the Finance Ministry, Yassine Jaber, was "very receptive" to an increase in the funds allocated to this program. She also stated that this aid could include "an additional 50,000 families" affected by the war between Israel and Hezbollah.
