The Civil Defense rescued six people trapped in a fire that erupted on the terrace of a residential building in Sabtieh, the Civil Defense said in a statement sent to L'Orient Today Tuesday.
The fire erupted at 12:15 p.m., according to the statement, and the blaze quickly spread to solar panels and lithium batteries installed on the first-floor rooftop.
"The fire quickly escalated, threatening nearby structures and posing a significant risk to public safety," the statement said. "Using an aerial ladder, the team managed to rescue six citizens who had been trapped in their homes by thick smoke."

"The fire, which threatened nearby properties and a fuel distribution station, was successfully contained, avoiding a potentially catastrophic outcome. The immediate intervention of our personnel prevented the flames from reaching the fuel station, averting a catastrophic disaster," the statement added.
A total of four firefighting vehicles, an ambulance and an aerial ladder were dispatched from Civil Defense centers across the region. While the fire was largely under control, operations to cool and monitor the site continue to ensure no further risk.
"At 12:30 p.m., Civil Defense teams responded to a vehicle fire in Aitaroun (Bint Jbeil) caused by an Israeli drone strike. The teams were able to contain the blaze quickly, preventing further damage," the statement said.
The strike killed one person and injured three others, our correspondent in the south had reported.
The Civil Defense concluded by assuring the public of its readiness, stating, "We remain fully prepared to handle any emergency situation, ensuring the safety of citizens and property."
