A worker in his fifties and a native of Tekrit in Akkar, Mohammad Darwish, succumbed to his injuries after being struck by a falling rock while working on a construction site in the village.
Residents attempted to rescue him by trying to remove the rock with an excavator, but the operation was delayed. The Lebanese Red Cross eventually transported his body to the Abdallah al-Rassi Governmental Hospital in Halba, Akkar.
