In collaboration with the advertising agency TBWA\RAAD Dubai, the Maharat Foundation clinched the silver trophy in the "Print & Publishing" category among 42 entries at the Dubai Lynx 2025, thanks to its poignant campaign "Their Final Shot."
The NGO, dedicated to defending freedom of expression and media development, was rewarded for its tribute to journalists who died covering the war in Lebanon. The campaign highlights the last photos taken by Issam Abdallah (killed on Oct. 23, 2023), Rabih al-Maamari and Farah Omar (killed on Nov. 21, 2023), Mohammad Reda and Ghassan Najjar, as well as Wissam Kassem (killed on Oct. 25, 2024) in Israeli strikes on Lebanon.
According to Maharat's statement, this recognition "testifies to its unwavering commitment to protecting press freedom and calling for the safety of media professionals worldwide."
Funded by several United Nations agencies, the European Union, and organizations such as the U.S. State Department's Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), Maharat continues its efforts thanks to international support.
The Dubai Lynx, an annual festival and competition, celebrates creative excellence in advertising, marketing, and communications in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. It distinguishes remarkable works in categories like film, print, digital, public relations, and branded content, evaluated by industry experts.
