As expected, the first Cabinet session in Baabda on Tuesday proceeded smoothly. After an initial introduction and the customary group photo, the new ministers convened under the chairmanship of President Joseph Aoun to outline their priorities and establish the committee tasked with drafting the ministerial declaration. While this process is proving more complex than usual — given the heightened polarization over Hezbollah’s weapons — government circles remain optimistic that progress is being made.
