BEIRUT — Once again, clashes erupted Sunday between Lebanese clans and Syrian security forces in the border area between Joussieh and the Hermel, continuing a cycle of violence that began late last week. The fighting involved machine gunfire, as well as rockets and shells launched from Syria at Lebanon, specifically from Matraba and Qousseir, where former Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) fighters now serving in Syrian security forces are stationed.The Qard al-Sabaa crossing point in the Hermel was hit by grenades fired from Syria, a security source told our regional correspondent. Two rockets and a shell also landed on the outskirts of Sahlat al-May, east of Hermel, while two armed Syrian drones were shot down in Jermesh, according to the state-run National News Agency (NNA).
