BEIRUT — In the course of six days, four Lebanese accused of working for Israeli intelligence were arrested, three of them from southern Lebanon and the fourth from the Bekaa, both areas that were heavily bombarded by Israel during its devastating aerial campaign against Lebanon in the fall. Last Friday, the Lebanese Army announced the arrest of a Lebanese man for "communicating with agents of the Israeli intelligence services." Identified by the initials H.A., the man was supposedly "deceived by his recruiters" who posed as members of an international organization and paid him $2,500 in exchange for traveling into "occupied Palestinian territory" and providing security information to his handlers, the Lebanese Army said.
