Armed clashes broke out Friday night between members of two families in the Bab Al-Raml area of Tripoli, resulting in one death and three injuries, L'Orient Today's northern correspondent reported.
A force from the army and security services arrived at the scene to contain the situation and ease tensions, which remain high in the area as of this morning, according to the correspondent.
Investigations are ongoing under the supervision of the competent judiciary to determine the motives and causes of the clashes.
In late 2022, caretaker Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi announced a "sustainable" security plan for North Lebanon following deadly shootings in Tripoli that raised concerns over escalating violence. However, security incidents persist in the city.
