In a new overall toll of the Israeli war against Lebanon, the Health Ministry said that 3,136 have been killed and 13,979 wounded, including 19 killed and 91 wounded on Friday alone. The ministry also said that at least 11 more people were killed in Israeli raids on the south of the country, in strikes carried out during the day.
The war between Hezbollah and Israel began on Oct. 8, 2023, but took a dramatic turn on Sept. 23, 2024, with an unprecedented Israeli escalation. The most affected areas are in south Lebanon, the Bekaa (especially the north) and the southern suburbs of Beirut, but there have been cases of vehicles or apartments being targeted in other areas.
