BEIRUT — A Syrian woman was found lifeless in her bed in the al-Atrash area of Wadi Khaled, in northern Lebanon, L'Orient Today's correspondent in the region reported.
The crime scene was visited by forensic experts, security forces and a patrol from the Information Branch of the Internal Security Forces.
The Lebanese Red Cross transferred the body to the Saint Charbel Hospital in Qobbayet, in Akkar, for examination. Investigations are ongoing under the supervision of the relevant judicial authorities.
A security source told L'Orient Today that "suspicions are centered around the victim’s brother, who is believed to be involved in the crime."
"Investigations are underway to track his whereabouts," the source added noting that "it is also reported that he may have fled to Syria."
