BEIRUT — The Israeli Army’s Arabic spokesperson Avichay Adraee claimed, once again, on X that Hezbollah has “hundreds of millions of dollars” hidden beneath Sahel Hospital in the Haret Hreik neighborhood of Beirut’s southern suburbs that journalists “missed when they were invited to a media tour of the hospital.” He urged journalists to “see for themselves,” pointing to a “suspicious wall” where the money is allegedly concealed.
Last Monday, the Sahel Hospital was evacuated after the Israeli army said it was conducting "a reconnaissance of the complex" beneath which it said "hundreds of millions of dollars" belonging to Hezbollah were hidden.
The management of this facility, one of the last operational hospitals in southern Beirut, organized a media visit to refute these accusations after evacuating patients and staff in a panic, fearing a repeat of the Gaza scenario.
“To all journalists who participated in the tour at Sahel Center in Beirut. Were you really surprised not to find the entrance? What did you expect — that Hezbollah would simply lead you to Nasrallah’s underground bunker?” Adraee wrote Sunday.
“We followed the reports broadcast on Lebanese channels, managed to debunk Hezbollah's lies, and pinpointed the exact location of the entry point. Look again at the suspicious wall! This is what you missed, what was hidden from you — this is the entrance. Return to the site now, and look for any way to access this space. Through the wall, via the elevator in the stairwell, through level -1, by any means you can examine. There lies the entrance to Nasrallah’s bunker, and hundreds of millions of dollars are hidden beneath the hospital,” Adraee insisted in the video he posted on X.
“We call on Lebanese government law enforcement and media organizations—come and see for yourselves. Just as we know Nasrallah’s location, and Safi Al-Din’s location, we also know the location of the hideout,” he concluded.
"The Israeli allegations about the Sahel hospital are false, but we were forced to evacuate," said MP Fadi Alameh (affiliated with the Amal Movement), also the director of the health facility in an interview with Al-Jadeed TV. He also said that "the Sahel Hospital has nothing to do with the parties," and called on the army command to inspect it and ensure that there are no tunnels under the building.
