After a journalist claimed on Tuesday to have been prevented from accessing the location identified by the Israeli army, L'Orient-Le Jour was able to visit the basement of the Sahel shopping center.

For the past 24 hours, the Arab-speaking spokesperson for the Israeli army, Avichay Adraee, has taken on an unprecedented role as a diligent observer of the work of journalists in Beirut, live-commenting on their coverage of what has become known as "the Sahel hospital affair" and repeatedly inviting them to explore the leads he has provided, with geographical indications to support his claims. It all began on Tuesday, Oct. 22, after a post on X where the Israeli officer asserted that Hezbollah had "hundreds of millions of dollars in cash and gold under the Sahel hospital in Haret Hreik to fund its terrorist activities."
