BEIRUT — The Chinese Embassy in Lebanon announced Wednesday the "suspension of its services starting today" in a statement.
Several embassies in Lebanon have announced temporary suspension or scaling back of services amid the ongoing war in Lebanon, between Israel and Hezbollah, which intensified on Sep.23.
In addition to China, embassies including those of Germany and Canada have implemented precautionary measures. Germany has evacuated non-essential staff, while Canada has arranged reserved flights for its citizens to leave the country.
Australia and the U.K. also urged their citizens to depart Lebanon as soon as possible and are preparing evacuation plans, including chartering flights for their nationals.
