Qatar, Italy and Jordan express 'solidarity' with Lebanon in calls with Mikati

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati expressed his gratitude to Italy, Qatar and Jordan for their efforts to end the Israeli aggression against Lebanon, as well as for their support during the difficult circumstances facing the country, according to a statement from the Grand Serail.

The prime minister received a call from Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who expressed her solidarity with Lebanon while emphasizing Italy's diplomatic efforts to achieve a ceasefire and protect civilians. She also offered assistance for relief efforts in collaboration with the United Nations.

Mikati also received a call from Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, who highlighted his country's "full solidarity" and "readiness to provide all necessary support to the brotherly Lebanese people to cope with the devastating consequences of the Israeli aggression."

Finally, Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister Ayman Safadi reiterated Jordan's full support for Lebanon's sovereignty and security. He also stressed the importance of an immediate ceasefire and the implementation of Resolution 1701, which ended the 2006 war.
