Since the assassination of Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, Shiite public opinion has been highly critical of Iran, its backer. The Islamic Republic has been accused of “abandoning” Hezbollah in the face of Israel, and even plotting against it and its leader. The shockwave created by the killing of the man who was considered untouchable, and the discovery of the extent and precision of the information in Israel’s hands has only added to this theory.
