While many Lebanese rushed to gas stations to fill up, for fear of running out of fuel while the Israeli army was intensely pounding several regions of Lebanon, the president of the Association of Fuel Importers in Lebanon (APIC), Maroun Chammas, told L'Orient-Le Jour publication that the country's gasoline supply is not disrupted for the moment despite the security context. He also added that a tanker delivered its cargo of gasoline this Monday. There is also no problem with the import of fuel oil, consumed by private generators.
The president of the gas cylinder distributors' union, Jean Hatem, who is part of APIC, said for his part that two ships were expected this week and "there was no need to panic" about it. He also called on the Lebanese to exercise caution and not to store unreasonable quantities of gas cylinders at home.
