BEIRUT — A grass fire that broke out earlier on Monday on the mountain adjacent to the Manar-Tripoli road, in northern Lebanon, has been successfully contained, L'Orient Today's correspondent in the north reported.
"Civil Defense and the Tripoli Fire Brigade made significant efforts to combat the flames. The cooling process of the affected area is now underway," L'Orient Today's correspondent stated.
The smoke from the fire had covered the region and entered nearby residential buildings, causing several cases of suffocation.
Emergency and relief teams assisted and transported one Civil Defense member to Al-Mazloom Hospital for treatment due to smoke inhalation, while three other suffocation cases were treated on-site, according to L'Orient Today's correspondent.
