BEIRUT — Hezbollah denied a report published by An-Nahar on Friday that claimed, without citing any source, the party "asked residents of southern Lebanese village to evacuate as of Thursday in anticipation of expected large-scale Israeli operations expected as preparations for a war on Lebanon increase."
Before Hezbollah's statement, sources close to Hezbollah told L'Orient Today's correspondent in the South that An-Nahar's claim is not true.
Around two hours later, Hezbollah's media relations released a statement, saying that An-Nahar's report is "completely false and unfounded."
Hezbollah and Israel have been engaged in nearly daily hostilities along the Lebanese-Israeli border since last October in parallel with the Hamas-Israel war in Gaza.
