A man with connections to Palestinian Islamic Jihad was targeted by a masked gunman on Sunday in the Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp near Saida in southern Lebanon, according to our correspondent Muntasser Abdallah, who cited sources within the camp.
The assailant entered the home of Abu Darda', a man linked to Islamic Jihad but not a member, and fired several shots at him, though none struck their target. The gunman fled and has not yet been apprehended.
The motive for the attack remains unclear, though sources in Ain al-Hilweh, cited by our correspondent, suggest it may have been a "personal dispute," but provided no further details.
