An unidentified body was found on Wednesday near Aandqet, a village in Akkar, reports L'Orient-Le Jour's correspondent in the region. The remains were recovered by investigators to be transferred to a hospital to be examined by a forensic doctor, to determine the causes of death.

An investigation has been opened. After initial investigations, the body was identified as A.A., a Syrian born in 1994 who "allegedly tried to cross the border between Syria and Lebanon illegally a week ago," according to local sources. For the moment, the crime track is not favored and the death would be due to a heart attack "attributed to fatigue and exhaustion," stated L'Orient-Le Jour's correspondent.
