MEA announces changes to some flight schedules for Aug. 25-31

BEIRUT — Middle East Airlines announced Friday that its flights from Aug. 25 to 31 2024, will remain as scheduled, "except for some modified flights."

"The delay is due to technical reasons related to the distribution of insurance risks for aircraft between Lebanon and other destinations," MEA said in a statement.

Lufthansa, Europe's leading airline, also announced that it was extending its suspension of flights to Beirut until Sept. 30 and to Tel Aviv and Tehran until Sept. 2, citing the ongoing risk of conflict. Flights to Amman, Jordan and Erbil, Iraq will resume on Aug. 27.

Flight changes have increased for both arrivals to and departures from Lebanon, as the security situation – already fragile since the start of the Gaza war in October 2023 – has reportedly deteriorated.

MEA has maintained most of its flights during this period without interruption, unlike other airlines that have suspended their service to Beirut for a certain period or until now.

Here is the schedule of modified MEA flights for the next few days:

For Sunday, Aug. 25, regarding arrivals in Beirut:

- Flight ME431 from Dubai is rescheduled to 5:45 a.m. instead of 2:15 a.m.

- Flight ME435 from Doha is rescheduled to 5:05 a.m. instead of 2:50 a.m.

- Flight ME427 from Dubai is rescheduled to 2:20 p.m. instead of 12:45 p.m.

- Flight ME429 from Dubai is rescheduled to 10:40 p.m. instead of 9:40 p.m.

- Flight ME369 from Jeddah is rescheduled to 5:50 a.m. on Aug. 26 instead of 9:15 p.m. the day before.

- Flight ME423 from Riyadh is rescheduled to 5:50 a.m. instead of 9:10 p.m. the day before.

- Flight ME403 from Kuwait is rescheduled to 5:55 a.m. on Aug. 26 instead of 9:15 p.m. the day before.

- Flight ME226 from Copenhagen is rescheduled to 5:30 a.m. on Aug. 26 instead of 10:30 p.m. the day before.
