BEIRUT — The Internal Security Forces (ISF) announced on Thursday, in a statement, the arrest of a Lebanese man in Saida, accused of fatally shooting his 25-year-old son in the Bekaa Valley.
According to the ISF statement, the incident occurred on Monday in the town of Wadi Om Ali, where the body of a Lebanese national born in 1999 was discovered with a gunshot wound.
"Following an investigation by the ISF’s Information Division, suspicion fell on the victim's father, born in 1978, who had fled the scene after the crime. On Tuesday, the ISF successfully apprehended him in Saida, southern Lebanon, after a period of surveillance and tracking," the statement explained.
"During questioning, the father confessed to using a pump-action shotgun to shoot his son following a dispute related to the son's illegal activities," the statement said.
