A thirteen-year-old student, who was a resident of the Bab al-Ramel neighborhood of Tripoli, tragically lost her life on Wednesday after falling through a gap inside the school bus she regularly took home. This incident occurred on Tripoli Boulevard as she was returning from school, L'Orient Today's correspondent in North Lebanon reported.

Initial reports indicate that the gap resulted from wear and tear on the bus floor. Tragically, the student was also accidentally run over by the bus itself.

The student was immediately transported in critical condition to Al-Mazloum Hospital for treatment, where she succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival.

Security authorities are currently conducting investigations with the driver, who has been detained pending further inquiries under the supervision of the relevant judiciary.

This incident has prompted concerns regarding the safety standards of school transportation services, raising questions about the maintenance and inspection procedures for school buses across the region.

Authorities are expected to conduct a thorough investigation to determine accountability and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
