Lebanese basketball referee Rabah Noujaim to participate in Paris 2024 Olympics

BEIRUT — Rabah Noujaim, a Lebanese Basketball referee, will be participating in the 2024 Olympics in Paris, the Lebanese Basketball Federation and sports marketing agency "The Slash" announced on Wednesday.

The 2024 Summer Olympics are scheduled to take place from July 26 to Aug. 11, 2024 in France.

"Proud to announce our very own [Rabah Noujaim] has been selected among the top 40 referees in the world for the Olympics in Paris 2024, the journey continues," the Lebanese Basketball Federation and The Slash posted on Instagram on Wednesday.

The 49-year-old referee has more than 26 years of experience. Noujaim became an FLB-approved referee in 1998 and began to officiate matches in the first division of the national league.

In 2000, he attained the elite category, the highest level of refereeing, which qualified him to officiate matches in the biggest international competitions, including the World Cup, the Olympic Games (2012 and 2020) and the Asian Cup.
