Small earthquake in Syria felt by residents in Lebanon

BEIRUT — An small earthquake measuring 4.3 degrees on the Richter scale was recorded on Sunday with its epicenter north of Lattakia in Syria. The tremor was felt by the residents of Syria and Lebanon, especially in Akkar, North Lebanon, L’Orient Today’s correspondent in the region reported.

Lebanon's National Center of Geophysics recorded two small earthquakes in Syria earlier this month. The earthquakes were 135 kilometers from Beirut, but were felt by residents in some regions in Lebanon, the state-run National News Agency reported.
