Fuel prices down following lira appreciation

BEIRUT — Fuel prices in Lebanon decreased according to new tariffs announced by the Energy Ministry Friday afternoon.

This latest price change comes as the Lebanese lira recovered to LL58,000 against the dollar on Friday afternoon, after reaching a record low of LL63,000 against the dollar.

The high volatility of the Lebanese lira prompted the Energy Ministry to publish two daily tariffs.

Here are the latest prices:

• Twenty liters of 95-octane gasoline: LL1,092,000, down by LL55,000

• Twenty liters of 98-octane gasoline: LL1,118,000, down by LL56,000

• Twenty liters of diesel: LL1,139,000, down by LL56,000

• Gas cylinder: LL695,000, down by LL35,000.

•One kiloliter of fuel oil (used to supply private generators): remained unchanged at $905.59.
