Fuel prices continue to soar amid lira depreciation

BEIRUT — Fuel prices continued to soar in Lebanon according to the morning tariffs announced on Friday by the Energy Ministry. This latest price hike comes as the Lebanese lira plummets on the parallel market, trading LL63,500 to the US dollar on Friday morning.

The high volatility of the Lebanese lira prompted the Energy Ministry to publish two daily tariffs. 

Here are the latest prices:

• Twenty liters of 95-octane gasoline: LL1,147,000, up by LL60,000

• Twenty liters of 98-octane gasoline: LL1,174,000, up by LL60,000

• Twenty liters of diesel: LL1,195,000, up by LL56,000

• Gas cylinder: LL730,000, up by LL35,000.

•One kiloliter of fuel oil (used to supply private generators): $905.59, up by $17.3.
