BEIRUT — Lebanon's Civil Defense put out a fire that erupted inside an abandoned cruise ship at the Beirut port Thursday, the service announced via Twitter.

Another fire broke out in shipping containers at the Beirut port Wednesday, and was brought under control by the Civil Defense, the service announced on social media.

However, it did not release any information on the causes of the two blazes.

Beirut port was devastated on Aug. 4, 2020, when a fire in a warehouse containing large quantities of ammonium nitrate led to an explosion that killed more than 220 people and injured 6,500 others in the capital.
