BEIRUT — Two individuals were arrested in the Israeli kibbutz of Yiftah for allegedly crossing the border from Lebanon, the Arabic Spokesperson of the Israeli army Avichay Adraee announced on Thursday.

Here's what we know:

    • In a Twitter post, Adraee said that investigations are ongoing after the two individuals were arrested by military personnel. He ruled out a "security incident," and said, "We will keep working to prevent any attempt to cross the border and violating Israel's sovereignty," Adraee added.

    • Israel's arrests of people present around the Lebanon-Israeli border are not uncommon as tensions between the two countries remain high on the border and Israeli violations of Lebanese territory are reported almost daily.
