BEIRUT — A personal dispute escalated on Thursday into an exchange of fire in Ras al-Ain, south of Sour, injuring three people, according to the state-run National News Agency. The three individuals were transferred to hospitals in the region.
Since the beginning of the socio-economic and financial crisis, the security situation continues to deteriorate in Lebanon, where weapons circulate freely. A recent study found that murder and suicide rates have dramatically increased in 2022, with murder cases up by at least 68 percent and suicide cases by 42 percent in July 2022, compared to 2021.
