A Chinese film crew arrived on July 14 in the Hajar al-Aswad neighborhood on the southern outskirts of Damascus — which was destroyed by the Assad regime in 2018 — to film scenes for a new blockbuster produced by the Hong Kong kung fu star.Images from the Hajar al-Aswad neighborhood, on the southern outskirts of Damascus, were shown on news channels in 2012 and in 2018.
The neighborhood, which was the target of heavy bombing by the Assad regime in the second year of the Syrian conflict, was again shelled and then razed to the ground by the regime six years later during the battle to recapture the locality from the hands of the jihadist Daesh organisation.
Soon, images from this same field of ruins will be shown on screen in cinemas.
