BEIRUT — The executive committee for COVID-19 vaccination announced Wednesday that registration for children between the ages of 5 and 11 for receipt of the vaccine has begun, the state-run National News Agency reported.
Here’s what we know:
• The vaccination committee’s statement announced that children between the ages of 5 and 11 could now register on the online IMPACT platform and they would be targeted during a later stage of the vaccination campaign.
• Speaking after a meeting with the Danish Ambassador to Lebanon Merete Juhl on Wednesday to receive a Danish donation of nearly half a million vaccine doses, Health Minister Firass Abiad said that opening registration aimed to “assure vaccines to this age category and to protect them in the wake of schools reopening.”
