tarek mitri

Originally from Tripoli, Tarek Mitri served as minister between 2005 and 2011 in four successive Lebanese governments, including in the ministries of environment, administrative development, culture, and information. He also served as acting Minister of Foreign Affairs before becoming the Special Representative of the U.N. Secretary-General in Libya from 2012 to 2014. He succeeds Saade Chami, affiliated with the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP).
