Israeli attacks continued in southern Lebanon on Saturday morning following a night of demolitions, airstrikes, shelling, artillery fire, flares, military vehicle movements and explosions.

At dawn, the Israeli army demolished several homes in Aita al-Jabal (Bint Jbeil), including those belonging to investigative journalist Radwan Mortada, who works notably for the daily Al-Akhbar, and resident Hussein Najm, according to our correspondent in southern Lebanon.

Other demolitions targeted structures in Beit Yahoun, near a religious site. Between Friday night and Saturday morning, a powerful explosion rocked Jabal Hilal, between Khiam and Ibl al-Saqi (Marjayoun), following the demolition of several homes. The blast was heard across the region.

On Saturday morning, artillery fire targeted the Scouts’ City in Zawtar al-Sharqieh (Nabatieh), as well as Haddatha (Bint Jbeil). Israeli tanks advanced toward the religious complex between Aita al-Jabal and Beit Yahoun, in the same district, before shelling a house.

Earlier, artillery and automatic weapons fire targeted the outskirts of Kfar Shuba (Hasbaya) from the Israeli position at Ramtha. Artillery fire also targeted Haddatha, where Israeli military vehicle movements were reported, while four shells landed in Wadi Zibqine (Sour).

Israeli military vehicles were also seen moving near Markaba, while artillery fire targeted Wadi Slouqi, in the Marjayoun district.

During the night, a Merkava tank shelled Haddatha, where Israeli military vehicle movements were also observed. Shelling additionally targeted the outskirts of Aita al-Jabal, Wadi Slouqi, Beit Yahoun and Mansouri, as well as Wadi al-Houjeir from the vicinity of Moulineh (Marjayoun).

Late Friday evening, two airstrikes hit Houla (Marjayoun). Amid artillery and automatic weapons fire across several areas, flares were fired and Merkava tank shells struck the coastal locality of Mansouri. Beit Yahoun, Haddatha, Wadi Slouqi and Wadi Zibqine (Sour) were also targeted.
