Washington warned Europe on Thursday that it was in its interest to work with the United States as Washington explores ways to boost supplies of refined petroleum products, a U.S. official told AFP.

The warning comes as the Trump administration is reportedly seeking to persuade European countries to release diesel from their strategic reserves onto the market in an effort to curb soaring prices, according to press reports.
