SOUTH LEBANON — The Israeli army continued its daily strikes and demolitions in southern Lebanon on Thursday morning, with machine-gun fire, artillery shelling and military vehicles moving through several towns.
Since the morning, several attacks targeted Mansouri, a village in the Sour district on the edge of the “buffer zone” occupied by Israel along the coast. The Israeli army set fire to properties and wooded areas there, blew up several houses and carried out an airstrike, according to our correspondent in the region, Muntasser Abdallah. An explosion was also reported in the neighboring town of Majdal Zoun.
In the Bint Jbeil district, further east, Israeli forces set fire to houses on the outskirts of Braasheet and shelled Srebbine with artillery. Earlier, automatic weapons fire targeted Haddatha and Beit Yahoun, while Israeli military vehicles were seen moving through Haddatha.
Israel also attacked several towns in the Marjayoun district, while military vehicles loaded with explosives were seen moving toward the Wadi Slouqi valley. Houses were set on fire in Houla, while Mais al-Jabal came under artillery fire and a demolition. Overnight, an airstrike hit Bani Hayyan, while houses were demolished with explosives in Khiam.
Troop movements were also reported in Zawtar Sharqieh, in the Nabatieh district, on the northern bank of the Litani River. During the night, the Israeli Air Force had already struck an area between Zawtar Sharqieh and Mayfadoun.
