The Israeli army blew up several buildings in Tire (Bint Jbeil), Mais al-Jabal and Tallousseh (Marjayoun) late Saturday afternoon. A large explosion in Mais al-Jabal was heard throughout the region, while homes were completely razed in Mansouri, our southern Lebanon correspondent reported.
Israeli warplanes also struck Sribbine, the area known as Ariche on the outskirts of Hariss (Bint Jbeil), and the outskirts of Bani Hayyan in Wadi Slouqi (Marjayoun). Artillery fire also hit Haddatha (Bint Jbeil), Wadi Zibqine (Sour), Khiam (Marjayoun), as well as Yohmor al-Shaqif and Zawtar al-Sharqieh (Nabatieh).
Earlier in the afternoon, the Israeli army said it had launched an attack on Hezbollah infrastructure in response to an explosion in the “security zone.”
“An explosive device planted by Hezbollah earlier in the day exploded on an Israel Defense Forces engineering vehicle in the security zone in southern Lebanon,” the army’s Arabic-language spokesperson, Ella Waweya, said on X, adding that two Israeli soldiers were lightly wounded and evacuated for medical treatment.
“The IDF immediately responded by attacking several terrorist infrastructures in various areas of southern Lebanon, reconnaissance sites and infrastructure used by Hezbollah to promote and carry out terrorist plans against our forces,” the army said in a statement.
Israeli attacks concentrated on three fronts
The developments came as the Israeli army blew up buildings in Kounine (Bint Jbeil) and was preparing, according to observers, to demolish homes in Mais al-Jabal (Marjayoun).
According to our regional correspondent, Israeli forces were seen placing explosives in homes on the western side of Meis el-Jabal, in the Moufeilha neighborhood, also known as Khellet al-Khashab. Gunfire and artillery fire also targeted Nabatieh al-Fawqa, as well as the outskirts of Zawtar al-Sharqieh and Mayfadoun (Nabatieh).
Saturday morning, Israeli attacks were concentrated on three fronts: Mansouri (Sour); Nabatieh al-Fawqa, which has continued to face daily bombardment, demolitions and destruction since the fall of the strategic Ali Taher ridge; and the Mais al-Jabal front, which also remains at the center of Israeli military activity in southern Lebanon.
According to our correspondent, Israeli forces are completing the destruction of what remains of the border village in an effort to prevent any form of life from continuing there. The previous day, they had set fire to the government hospital in Mais al-Jabal, drawing condemnation from the Lebanese Health Ministry.
In Deir Mimas, also in the eastern sector, a tense standoff took place between the Israeli and Lebanese armies. The Lebanese Army had established a new checkpoint at the northern entrance to the still-inhabited village, which is located within the “buffer zone” imposed by Israel.
Mais al-Jabal is located in southeastern Lebanon, facing the western side of the Israeli town of Kiryat Shmona. In the morning, the Israeli army carried out an incursion into the Khellet al-Khashab neighborhood on the western side of Mais al-Jabal from the Mfeilha area, with artillery support. Around midday, it also blew up buildings in Deir Siriane, in the same district, between Mais al-Jabal and Nabatieh.
At the same time, Israeli warplanes carried out at least three airstrikes on Nabatieh al-Fawqa in the morning. A Civil Defense team at the scene managed to take shelter in time, our correspondent reported.
In Mansouri, which has been particularly targeted by Israeli demolitions of buildings and homes, five explosions rang out early Saturday and were heard in neighboring villages, while a drone dropped explosive barrels. Israeli military vehicles accompanied by bulldozers also moved through the streets as artillery fire targeted the outskirts of the village.
In the neighboring village of Bouyout al-Sayyad, the Israeli army also set fire to homes.
The night from Friday to Saturday was marked by airstrikes on Nabatieh al-Fawqa, Mansouri and Qantara (Marjayoun). Artillery fire also targeted Wadi Zibqine (Sour) and Srebbine (Bint Jbeil).
