BEIRUT — “Some other things ruled it,” a solo exhibition of new and recent work by Ramallah-based artist Khalil Rabah, is installed in the Downtown and Karantina spaces of Sfeir-Semler gallery. Most of the works in Karantina are installation pieces from 2026, assembled from found objects. The port-side location is showing works on paper and fabric.The Palestinian artist is frankly uninterested in explaining how “research translated into form” in his new works. Gallerist Andrée Sfeir-Semler describes Rabah’s modus operandi as Dada — the post WWI avant-garde movement that rejected rational order in favour of creative spontaneity. The artist invites visitors to find meaning in his intuitive juxtaposition of elements in each work.
