SOUTH LEBANON — Israeli forces carried out a series of demolitions, detonations and other military operations across southern Lebanon on Saturday, with particularly intense activity reported in Mansouri (Sour), Bani Hayyan and around Doubieh Castle, according to our southern Lebanon correspondent.
In Mansouri (Sour), Israeli forces carried out nine detonations. An Israeli drone also dropped a sonic bomb, followed by another explosion, while Israeli bulldozers carried out excavation work in the Mashaa area of the village.
In Bani Hayyan (Marjayoun), Israeli forces detonated structures, while several homes around Doubieh Castle were reportedly booby-trapped after Israeli forces advanced from the western outskirts of Mais al-Jabal (Marjayoun).
Israeli explosions were also reported in several other southern towns. An explosion was reported in Beit Yahoun (Bint Jbeil), while another took place in Arnoun (Nabatieh). Israeli forces also dropped a sonic bomb in the Al-Arish neighborhood of Haris (Bint Jbeil).
The latest activity came as the Health Ministry announced a final toll of four killed and 32 wounded in Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley on Friday.
In the Nabatieh district, one person was killed and three were wounded, including a woman, in Nabatieh; two people were killed in Kfar Rummane; and an 18-year-old woman and nine others, including three women and two children, were wounded in Maifdoun. Two people were also wounded in Nabatieh al-Fawqa and one in Kfour.
In the Sour district, 16 people were wounded, including four women and three children, in Ramadieh. In the Western Bekaa, one person was wounded in Ain al-Tineh.
Mohammad Hussein Munzer, from Tamnine al-Fawqa in the Bekaa, was also killed in an Israeli airstrike on Ramadieh (Sour) on Friday night, according to local reports.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army said it struck what it described as Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon overnight, including weapons depots, following what it said was an attempted drone attack against Israeli soldiers in a designated security zone.
According to the army, a drone was launched Friday toward its troops but caused no injuries. It said the strikes targeted facilities allegedly used to plan and direct attacks against Israeli forces and Israeli civilians, describing the strikes as an effort to eliminate an immediate threat.
Fires spread near Zawtar al-Sharqieh
In the Nabatieh district, an object resembling a parachute was spotted flying over Zawtar al-Sharqieh and surrounding areas. Its nature and what it was carrying remained unknown, according to local reports.
An Israeli Merkava tank stationed inside the village shelled its outskirts, causing fires that spread toward Maifdoun, according to our correspondent. Israeli artillery also targeted the area around Zawtar al-Sharqieh as the fires spread.

Hezbollah condemns Israeli escalation
Hezbollah condemned what it described as Israel’s ongoing escalation against Lebanon, accusing the United States of supporting the attacks and the Lebanese government of failing to protect the country.
In a statement, the group accused Israel of continuing a campaign of “killing, bombardment, destruction and systematic demolition of homes and villages,” saying recent attacks had killed four people and wounded dozens.
Hezbollah also criticized the Lebanese government’s approach to negotiations with Israel and the framework agreement between the two countries, arguing that Israel’s continued occupation, attacks and destruction demonstrated the failure of the process.
The group said the release of some Lebanese detainees was important but “cannot serve as a pretext to obscure the continued aggression, occupation and killing of Lebanese.”
It called on Lebanese authorities to “reconsider their calculations” and urged Lebanese citizens to “stand united behind a unified national position” to preserve Lebanon’s sovereignty and its ability to confront Israeli attacks.
