The U.S. Treasury Department announced Thursday a new round of sanctions targeting ten individuals accused of taking part in a network that funneled up to several hundred million dollars in cash to Hezbollah, while also redesignating the Shiite movement due to its ties with the Quds Force, the unit of Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps responsible for foreign operations.

"Hezbollah is redesignated ... on the grounds that it is owned, controlled, or directed by the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps [IRGC-QF], or that it has acted or claimed to act on behalf of or at the direction of the group," the U.S. Treasury wrote in its statement, amid open conflict with Iran and as the war between Hezbollah and Israel continues.
