BEIRUT — Prosecutor General at the Court of Cassation Judge Ahmad Rami al-Hajj has ordered the Internal Security Forces (ISF) to immediately arrest a Syrian national and investigate him.
The order follows the circulation of a video on social media showing the man, identified as Hussein Ahmad, making insulting remarks about Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa in front of the Syrian Embassy in Lebanon.
A judicial source told al-Modon that the decision was based on Lebanese laws banning provocative behavior and public insults in front of diplomatic missions.
The source also cited the improving relations between Lebanon and Syria since the fall of the Assad regime.
